Human Resources Coordinator

Job Description

Cayan is looking to add a Human Resources Coordinator to fill a critical role within our growing organization. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Coordinator is responsible for helping to provide administrative support to the Human Resources Team for our Boston, Arizona, Belfast locations and our remote employees.

We are looking for a detail oriented individual with appropriate HR experience, preferably in a high growth fast paced environment.  

Roles and Responsibilities

Consultation to CAYAN Employees

  • Provide consultation to employees on human resources in helping to develop a culture that enables employees to perform in accordance with the company’s mission and policies.
  • Effectively help to administer support to the Human Resources Team on all HR related matters and perform customer service functions by answering employee request and questions. 
  • Responds to inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefit programs
  • Keeps personnel records and I-9 files to ensure legal compliance.
  • Coordinate annual benefit enrollment process for organization.
  • Help to deliver HR support in a manner that continues to be foster a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
  • Responsible for providing up-to-date expertise on human resources best practices and legal obligations.
  • Serve as the payroll back-up

HR Team Support

  • Updates HR spreadsheets and online tools with employee change requests while processing necessary paperwork
  • Assists with processing of terminations
  • Assists with the preparation of performance management
  • Assists HR team with various research projects and/or special projects
  • Assists with recruitment and interview processes
  • Schedules interviews as needed by the HR Team
  • Maintains appropriate employee files
  • Prepares necessary correspondence as needed

Performance Management

  • Assess, implement and help to manage performance review process.
  • Help to develop and implement performance review training for staff and management to deliver clear, honest and legally compliant reviews.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Assist with annual staff budgeting and compensation and benefits benchmarking. Provide supporting data to the HR Team
  • Help to administer employee benefit program responsibilities by directing the administration of the health, life, STD/LTD, COBRA and FMLA.
  • Facilitates the company 401(K) and FSA plans.
  • Administer and manage MBTA pass program.
  • Develops and provides benefits orientation and other on-going benefits training.

Employee Communication and Employee Engagement

  • Ensure proper and timely employee communication through various means – including town halls preparation and written communication.
  • Foster an environment of engaged and motivated employees.    

Organizational Planning and Design

  • Participate in the organizational planning and design that evaluates structure, job design, and capacity forecasting throughout the company. Coordinate activities across division lines. Evaluates plans and changes to plans. Makes recommendations to VP of HR.
  • Facilitate succession planning throughout the company. Coordinates activities across division lines. Evaluates plans and changes to plans. Makes recommendations to VP of HR.

Training and Employee Development

  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure proper employee development and skill development.
  • Conduct supervisor and staff employment practices training as necessary. 
  • Train, support and guide managers by ensuring regular discussions take place regarding performance objectives, implementation of skill plans and long term career development of staff.
  • Conduct human resources on-boarding training for new hires and promotions.
  • Ensure that all human resources training modules are accurate, current and well-presented.

Policies and Procedures

  • Recommend, implement and maintain the administration of all human resource policies and procedures for the company.
  • Review and approve all professional development policies and procedures to ensure human resource objectives are met.
  • Ensure job descriptions for all positions are legally compliant, accurate and up-to-date.

Compliance with Laws and Regulations

  • Comply with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources function (e.g., OSHA, EEO, ERISA, Wage & Hour). Monitor exposure of the company. Direct the preparation of information requested or required for compliance. Approve all information submitted. Act as primary contact with outside counsel and government agencies.
  • Protect the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company human resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.
  • Approve recommendations for terminations. Review employee appeals through complaint procedure.

Employee Relations

  • Provide advice and counsel to managers and management team in the resolution of employee questions related to HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the hiring and termination of all employees.
  • Assist with the conduct of investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forward.
  • Provide employment referrals and verifications.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following education, skills and experience:
  • 3 years of relevant working experience in a high growth environment.
  • Degree with an emphasis on human resources, organizational development or other relevant discipline.
  • Knowledge of human resources and labor related laws and regulations and comprehensive understanding of human resource principles.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, strong verbal/written communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, and clearly, with employees at all levels within the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office systems; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Experience

  • The ideal candidate will possess strong instincts and operational experience in an HR function within a high growth technology start-up.
  • The successful incumbent must possess the proven ability to advise and guide the management in strategic planning and execution and manage results to stated objectives.  This individual must be results-oriented with strong operational, analytical, strategic planning and problem solving skills, with the ability to view HR implications from a variety of perspectives.

Job Description

This role is responsible for maintaining and further developing partner relationships within an assigned group of Integrated Software Vendor (ISV) and/or Value Added Reseller (VAR) Partners recruited by our Business Development Team. Reporting to the VP, Partner Development, the primary responsibility is to develop and execute effective strategies to increase sales within these partnerships. Success will be managed by accurately forecasting and attaining increased sales through the assigned partners.
Key Responsibilities:
The PDM is responsible for proactively managing the relationship with assigned ISV and VAR partners to increase engagement and generate leads for Cayan’s inside and outside sales teams. The successful PDM will:
  • Accurately forecast and attain increased sales through ISV and VAR partners.
  • Understand the size and scope of growth potential among their assigned partners.
  • Understand the business drivers of key partners and identify opportunities to deepen and strengthen their partnership with Cayan.
  • Effectively own Cayan’s relationship with their assigned partners both internally and externally.
  • Leverage Cayan Marketing’s capabilities to drive multi-faceted marketing campaigns and channel promotions.
  • Leverage Cayan’s training teams to frequently train our partner’s sales teams on the value proposition that Cayan provides.
  • Launch new Cayan products and features through the partner channel, including software integrations needed to deliver products and features through channel partners.
  • Initiate new partners through early processes of working with Cayan including introducing them to the key players on their respective account support team.
  • Drive business growth by working with the partner’s sales people and reinforcing Cayan value proposition.
  • Ensuring service issues that are escalated are routed to the appropriate personnel in Partner Support and are handled promptly. 
Key Requirements:
  • College degree or equivalent work experience

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for network architecture, design, administration, documentation, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting. The individual will participate in the ongoing support for network systems using current and emerging technologies. With an internal SLA objective of 5 9’s s/he will maintain overall network health in a 24/7 environment and carry out network tasks based on business objectives and strategy. In addition, that candidate is expected to be a self-starter who can operate well under a variety of different situations and types of projects, ranging from a team of one to a team of many.

Position Description:

  • Responsible for supporting all network infrastructure including but not limited to switches, routers, load balancers, firewalls, etc. Oversees proactive network grooming, life cycle management, upgrades, bandwidth capacity management, and high priority incident, change and problem management.
  • Manages highly visible/risky changes and ensures network infrastructure is running efficiently. Acts as Network Engineering liaison to peers in Engineering, Architecture, Information Security, and Production Support.
  • Responsible for life cycle management of network production devices, including but not limited to, upgrades, capacity reporting, etc. Represents Network Engineering on the Architecture Review Board meetings. Works closely with System Engineering and Security to stay abreast of upcoming network related initiatives, as well as, notifies these groups of re-occurring issues within the network realm.
  • Ensure the availability, performance, and operational integrity of Network Engineering domain.
  • Align systems solutions/technologies to complement and support business/strategic plans.
  • Make recommendations for emerging, new, and altered technologies that would contribute to system productivity and/or cost savings improvements.
  • Establish system management criteria and develop, maintain, and monitor procedures and policies. • Coordinate appliance and software upgrades with vendors and teams as necessary.
  • Coordinate capacity, planning and analyze information for hardware tuning and integration.
  • Issue technical bulletins to inform users of system changes and act as technical advisor.
  • Maintain and engage network analyzer utilities to measure, record, and analyze network bandwidth requirements.
  • Provide IT management with regular reports detailing network usage, security, and voice system service levels, maintenance, turnaround, and response times.
  • Evaluate and manage service contracts for network data systems, including recommendations for renewals and cancellations.
  • Schedule and coordinate with Security team to conduct Network and Information Security assessments.
  • Coordinate the development of a comprehensive Network and Systems Disaster Recovery Plan, maintain the plan, and conduct periodic testing.
  • Actively participate in IT strategy sessions to assess and determine the applicability of new and emerging system and network technologies.

Position Requirements:

  • The successful candidate must be a self-starter, work with limited supervision, a team player and able to clearly communicate with other team members, management and the customer community. • 5+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (8+ years in total).
  • Solid experience with CISCO networking technology including ASA Firewalls, Virtual Private Networking, and Wireless Access Points.
  • Strong experience with implementing and maintaining Extreme Networks Switches, OSPF and BGP, routing, and vLAN tagging.
  • Certifications Extreme (ECS, ECE, ECA) and/or Cisco (CCDE, CCIE) certification and experience supporting routers, switches, and hubs.
  • In-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN Protocols including but not limited to MPLS, VOIP, and Multicast Routing.
  • 5 years’ experience with routing protocols, VOIP and QoS configuration on both routers and switches.
  • Proficient with Spanning Tree Protocol, Bridge Protocol Data Units (BPDU) and best practices related to STP configuration.
  • Microsoft Windows server administration skills.
  • Strong security awareness and focus; fundamental knowledge of security principles, disaster recovery and backup procedures.
  • Has sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to be individually responsible for the design and scope of deliverables within a field of expertise.
  • Able to communicate and present complex issues with assurance and confidence. Demonstrate the use of following skills which includes questioning, listening, idea development, and influencing.
  • Ability to conduct/lead oral status/technical interchanges meetings with clients on small to medium sized engagements.
  • Owns and produces necessary documentation. Has the ability to translate technical details into concise and easy to understand written documentation.

A Qualified Candidate should be experienced in the following areas

  • Must have 5+ years experience as a Software Developer or Senior Software Developer Programming in a high level object oriented language (eg. C# or Java or C++ or .NET)
  • Must have familiarity with Continuous Delivery or Continuous Deployment, or Continuous Integration or DevOps Working knowledge of RDBMS concepts including the SQL programming language
